Arrival & Departure
Check with the coordinator from your church or school for details on departure and arrival time. For adult retreats, all campers must check in with the front office during registration.
What to Bring
A signed registration form with waiver must be on file for each camper before they may participate in any camp activities. We recommend bringing spending money for our snack and souvenir store—The Bonanza Trading Co.—and for Stompin’ Grounds Coffeehouse, our coffee and smoothie shop. Please bring toiletries, a flashlight, Bible, note pad, and a pen or pencil. Please check the weather for Grass Valley to help pack appropriately for the season. Consider bringing sunblock, sunglasses, chapstick, a camera, and medicine as needed. Youth retreat attendees are expected to bring their own bedding and towels. Adult retreat attendees have linens—bedding and towels—included in their price.
What Not to Bring
Please do not bring pets, cigarettes, drugs, alcoholic beverages, matches, fireworks, weapons of any kind (see Activities for firearms guidelines), cell phones, electronic games and other electronic devices, clothing promoting objectionable activities, or large amounts of money or valuables.
Special Diets and Snacks
All meals are included in the price of the camping program. Those on special diets must bring their own necessary supplements. A refrigerator, microwave, and toaster are available to store and prepare special diet foods. Food from a meal served at The Mill may be set aside for a future meal. Please ask your coordinator for a menu if that would be helpful in planning.
Groups bringing extra food / snacks / drinks for fellowship can talk with their coordinator about what facility options are available. To avoid attracting critters, please keep your cabin area clean and reseal snacks or dispose of them rather than keeping them open.
Activities
Wolf Mountain offers a variety of activities, many of which are in an outdoor setting. Your retreat coordinator is responsible for choosing the activities that best suit your group and can share the schedule. If weather affects planned activities, camp staff will work with your group coordinator to adjust and communicate schedule changes throughout the retreat. If your adult retreat includes shooting activities at our ranges, you are welcome to bring CA compliant firearms. They are to be used only at the shooting range at the scheduled times and must stay locked in your vehicle at all other times.
Lost and Found
It is a good idea to mark all luggage and clothing with your name. Lost and found items not requested within thirty days will be disposed of. Requested items will be mailed at your expense.
Dress Recommendations
We encourage people to wear clothing that allows them to remain an active part of camp. If wearing shorts, please choose a longer style (like Bermuda shorts) where the length falls closer to the knee. Pants or jeans are fine as well. Please avoid any clothing that does not cover the stomach or allows underwear of any kind to show. We require all clothing to be modest and appropriate. Closed-toe shoes with backs are required for certain activities.
Wolf Mountain reserves the right to ask any person to change his/her outfit if it does not comply with these standards. Please call our office if you have any questions. If you are coming with a church youth group or school, please be aware of any additional dress guidelines stated in their policies.
Water Activities During Summer Retreats—Girls: Colored shorts and a shirt should be worn over swimsuits. If shorts do not come to the knee, a towel or cover-up should be worn while going to and from the activity area. Guys: Exposed undergarments are not permitted. Swimsuits should be modest, trunk-type suits. Co-ed: If both guys are girls are present at water activities, guys should wear shirts and girls should wear longer-style shorts and a t-shirt over swimwear. Dark fabrics are most suitable.
Wi-Fi and Cell Phone Use
We encourage our campers (adult and youth) to be unplugged while at camp. If needed, guest Wi-Fi is available for adults and strongest in our office and meeting room locations. Cell service may be limited for non-Verizon carriers. Parents of campers are always welcome to call in case of an emergency. If further connections are necessary, we recommend working through the coordinator or cabin sponsor to arrange conducive times during the retreat schedule. Youth coming with church groups or schools should abide by any policies already in place by their group. To respect privacy, no photos should be taken inside of the cabins.
Handicap Accessibility
While most main buildings have ramp accessibility, much of our property is located on hills with distance between facilities. Those with limited mobility are welcome to drive as needed provided they leave enough room when parking for other vehicles to pass. Those who may have difficulty climbing steps should ask their coordinator to help ensure a workable cabin option when cabin assignments are given.
