Are you a ten-talent man or a one-talent man? Maybe you don’t know how much you’ve been given, but you recognize that you have been given time, ability, and finances—all things that you use to make investments. You can invest in things that please you or things that please God. The goal of an investment is always a good return. We can’t control the return we get on our time or money, but the Apostle Paul reminds us that God controls “the increase.” When God tells older men to invest in younger men to teach them, only God does the work in their heart. When we give to God’s work, we know that it’s God Who uses our temporary means to make an eternal impact. The bottom line is that the best investment we can make is a life of obedience to God while leaving the return of a blessed life up to Him.
